Santillana is a leading group in the textbook publishing sectors in Spain, Portugal and Latin America. With over 50 years of educational experience and specialist knowledge in the education field, it has an entire team of teachers, editors and experts which successfully create content to meet the educational needs of each school year.
The challenge
Santillana had been interested in finding new means of distributing digital educational content for some time. It needed to produce a large amount of content in a short time, adapting all of its textbooks to a different digital format to be used in the classroom. Furthermore, the logistics of distributing and selling the material had to be considered.

Adaptation of textbooks to the e-learning format
For this transition, we are using our Learning Fruit Custom digital editing system. When adapting the texts, work was carried out using contents suitable for the age of the pupils, and making sure that they were clear, progressive and appropriate. A large amount of interactive and visual resources were designed to complement the teacher’s classroom activity.
Online store
We have designed and developed the e-commerce solution via which Santillana salespeople and families can order digital educational materials. The model connects the content to licence management systems, educational platforms and commercial management.
Educational platform
Santillana and Netex signed an agreement allowing the use of the Learning Fruit CENTRAL platform in Spain and Latin America. This agreement seals a close collaboration born whilst developing a product which, thanks to the extent of its functionality, ease of use and easy integration, is set to become the ideal tool for teaching students and organising schools.
